Create a Story plugin
Welcome to Story Highlights! This guide will explain the purpose of this feature and how to create and manage Story Highlights.
When you choose Story Highlights, you'll need to prepare selected products or customers feedback materials and compile them into Story Highlights and placed at the top of specific pages.
Name Your Story Highlights
When you select the type of promotion you want to perform, click on the pencil icon next to Story Highlights to edit the name.
Pro Tip: You can add descriptive terms to your Story Highlights slot names, such as adding dates or event objectives. This way, you can quickly identify the purpose of the slot. For example, if you want to feature a promotion on your homepage, such as a pre-11.11 sale, you can name it: Homepage - 11.11 Sales - October 2023.
Step 1: Select a Layout
We offer several options for placing Stories at the top of specific pages:
Homepage
Product List Page
Product Details Page
Once completed, click Next.
Step 2: Content
Set thumbnails
You can set a attractive or highly recognizable thumbnail for the highlight Story. Thumbnail image formats supported include .png, .jpg, .jpeg, with a minimum size requirement of 200 × 200 pixels. It is recommended to focus the image on the center of the circle.
Click + icon to upload an image.
Select the desired image from your device. Once you have selected your image, a popup will open where you can crop your image to fit the recommended sizes.
A box identifies the part of your image that will make up your promotion. The greyed-out areas of the image will not appear on your promotion.
You can click and drag the selection box to choose what part of your image is used. You can also zoom in and out on an image with the selection box by using the scroll on your mouse.
You can also name your Story Highlights selections, with a recommended character count of 12 alphanumeric characters or 7-8 Chinese characters for the best customer reading experience.
Add content to Story Highlights
Click the + icon to upload content. Supported image formats include .png, .jpg, .jpeg, with a size of 3:4 and 900 × 1200 pixels. It is recommended to add a title and URLs to direct to the product page or specific page.
You can also click the × icon in the upper right corner of an uploaded image to delete it.
Continue Adding Story Highlights
After configuring the first set of highlight, you can click "Add Another Highlight" to add more featured stories.
You can drag the thumbnail to rearrange the stories sorting.
It is recommended to set up 3-6 featured Stories and thumbnails on one page to increase the likelihood of each Story Highlights being clicked.
Step 3: Design
You can customize the appearance of Story Highlights' outline frames, both "Active" and "Seen" states, the font weight of the highlight title, and text color to match your brand image or the specific characteristics of your Story Highlights.
Step 4: Review
You can check the actual presentation would appear on a mobile webpage of Story Highlights on the right-side panel. Click "Save and continue" to proceed to the next step.
Click the floppy disk icon to save the Stories and the settings you’ve adjusted so far for editing and review.
After confirming the interface presentation in "Overview," click "Launch Now" to make Story Highlights appear on your mobile website for customers to browse.
